Victor Dayrit Rodriguez
Independent (endorsed by PDP-Laban)

Victor Dayrit Rodriguez

Victor 'Vic' Dayrit Rodriguez, born December 23, 1973, is a lawyer who served as the first executive secretary of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for less than three months in 2022, from July to mid-September. His career in the Marcos circle began when he served as Marcos's lawyer in the latter's electoral protest for the 2016 vice-presidential race, and later as his spokesperson during the 2022 presidential campaign. Rodriguez resigned from his executive secretary position amid controversy over a sugar importation issue where he allegedly failed to fully and promptly inform the President of matters requiring urgent attention. Though initially proposed to transition to Chief of Staff, he completely exited the Marcos administration after a draft administrative order giving him enormous powers as Chief of Staff was censured by Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile. Two months after his departure from the administration, he was expelled from Marcos's party, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, where he had been executive vice president. Prior to his national government role, Rodriguez served as a barangay councilor and later as chairman of Barangay Sacred Heart in Quezon City. He was also appointed to various offices in the Quezon City local government by then-mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. Rodriguez has since become a vocal critic of the Marcos administration and is running for the Senate in the 2025 elections as an independent candidate, though he has been included in the PDP-Laban senatorial slate endorsed by former President Rodrigo Duterte.
